  1. What is the insulation rating on your cooler? Higher the number the better the insulation and the longer it stays cool.

  2. If you are talking about ice cream, it starts to melt around 33 to 35 and can get soupy rather quickly. Other items such as frozen meat and frozen fruits and vegetables can last longer when kept chilled.

  3. Also, you will need tools that do not conduct heat to grasp the magnets and remove them from next to the ice. Metal tools will quickly conduct the heat of your hands away, and can cause serious damage to your skin.
